When your hair gets dry, nothing works quite like a deep conditioning hair spa! But why take a trip to the salon and shell out the money – when you can do it at home with just a few very humble ingredients that you already have at home? So here goes:

First we’ll tell you the ingredients:

  • Bananas (ripe) – 1 to 2 (depending on the length of hair)
  • Pure organic honey – 2 tbsp.
  • Pure coconut oil – 2 tbsp. [this is the only oil that actually penetrates deep into your hair shaft!]
  • Coconut milk – 2 tbsp.

Now to make this mask and use it:

  1. Start by adding all the ingredients to a bowl.
  2. Take a fork and mash everything together well till smooth and combined.
  3. You can also add everything to a blender and just blitz till smooth.
  4. Section your hair and apply generously to each section –the whole hair as close to the scalp as possible.
  5. Once down, twist your hair up and put it into a shower cap.
  6. Leave the spa treatment to work its magic for half an hour to an hour.
  7. Wash off with a mild shampoo and follow up with your regular conditioner!

Dandruff can be very stubborn. And even though you have so many dandruff shampoos and conditioners available, few will deliver lasting results. However, what really helps is a good scalp moisturizing hair spa! And we have the home version of that right here! We are using ingredients that are both anti-bacterial, can reduce inflammation, and help to moisturize!

You will need:

  • Sesame oil – 7 tbsp. [for long hair]
  • Raw and wild Honey – 2 tbsp.
  • Apple cider vinegar – ¼ cup
  • Plain water – 1 ¼ cup

And now to make it:

  1. Mix both the sesame oil and honey properly together.
  2. Now pour into a clean bottle with a narrow nozzle.
  3. Shake once. Now apply to scalp in narrow sections while rubbing it in.
  4. Once the whole head is done, use your fingers to do a full head scalp massage – this will increase circulation in your scalp.
  5. Now use a fine toothed comb to slowly comb the hair from scalp to tip. This promotes the oil to spread throughout the hair strands.
  6. Leave it in for 30 minutes. You can use a hair steamer at this point, if you like. It will only help the oil to penetrate better.
  7. In the meantime take a large bowl and mix in the apple cider vinegar and water together.
  8. At the end of 30 minutes, use the vinegar water solution to rinse the whole hair and scalp.
  9. Leave for another 30 minutes.
  10. Now wash your hair with a mild shampoo and do not forget to use your conditioner!

Split ends are the number 1 sign of damaged and undernourished hair. When your hair shaft isn’t properly nourished, the strand breaks up into 2 or sometimes more parts – and these are called split ends. Surprisingly, frizz is caused by the same phenomenon! And a hair spa is usually a great way to treat these. But why take a pricey trip to the salon when you can do it at home for (almost) free?

So here are the things you will need:

  • Unrefined Shea butter – 4 tbsp.
  • Sunflower oil – 4 tbsp.
  • Olive oil – 3 tbsp.

Now for the instructions:

  1. Take the shea butter in a bowl and use a fork to whip it up till creamy.
  2. Now add to it the oils and continue to whip till you reach a soft conditioner like texture.
  3. Wet your hair, and apply it to the areas that are dry. Avoid using on your scalp.
  4. Also, when using on hair, use sparingly, as washing it off will be difficult.
  5. Put your hair up in a plastic or a shower cap.
  6. Steam your hair for 10 to 15 minutes. And leave it in the cap for another 15-20 minutes.
  7. Afterwards wash it off with shampoo and use a conditioner.

And finally for…
